Some people confuse the difference between the dawn prayer and the dawn qabliyah prayer. So that there are those who do it twice. The dawn prayer is performed before the dawn call to prayer, then the dawn qabliyah prayer is performed after the dawn call to prayer. The question arises, is the dawn qobliyah prayer done after the call to prayer or before the call to prayer?
Fajr prayer is also called the dawn prayer. Dua rakat Fajar is another name for the Sunnah prayer ratibah (routine sunnah prayer that accompanies the Fardlu prayer) Fajr. This prayer is done before the Fajr prayer. Some of our society calls it Qabliyah Shubuh.
The way it is carried out, after a person performs ablution and is sure that it is time for Fajr or after the muezzin proclaims the Fajr prayer, he stands praying two rak'ahs before the Fajr prayer.
Two cycles of dawn including the sunnah mu'akkadah prayer; very stressed to be implemented. Prophet Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam always guarded him; either at home or traveling.
As explained in the hadith 'Aisyah, "For the Prophet sallallaahu' Alaihi Wasallam never left him (two rak'ahs before Fajr) at all." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim).
A'ishah narrated, "That the Prophet never left four cycles before midday and two cycles before dawn." (HR. Bukhari 1182, Nasai 1758, and others).
This A'isyah story shows that the sunah prayer which was motivated by the Prophet and he routinized was the sunah prayer qabliyah at dawn. This prayer is called the dawn prayer, because this prayer is performed right after dawn, before the dawn prayer.
Still from Ummul Mukmini bint Abi Bakr, said: "The Prophet sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam never paid attention to circumcision prayers more than he paid attention to the two cycles of dawn." (Muttafaq Alaihi)
Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam never overslept performing the Fajr prayer in one trip. He woke up when the sun had risen. Then he told Bilal to say the call to prayer.
Then he performed ablution and the dawn prayer two cycles followed by his companions. Then he told Bilal to say iqamah and he prayed Fajr with them.
Shaykh Abdullah bin Abdurrahman Al-Bassaam in Taudhih Al-Ahkam (2/382) said, "In fact, the two rak'ahs of Fajar are the main rawatib prayers, both of which are better than the world and what is in it. Indeed the Prophet sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam never left both of them while in his residence and neither when he was traveling. "
Some people understand that the two cycles of dawn are praying two cycles of sunnah before entering Fajr, namely before the call to prayer. This is a misunderstanding. That the two cycles of dawn are the qabliyah Fajr itself, part of the rawatib sunnah prayer.
Whoever did it before Fajr, he did not get the virtue of two cycles of dawn. He only got the absolute reward of praying the sunnah, because that time was the free time for prayer.
Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih Uthaimin in one of his fatwas explained, "Praying two rak'ahs at dawn which is done before Fajr is not valid. Not counted as rawatib sunnah prayer. This prayer becomes the absolute sunnah prayer. He was given the reward of praying just nafilah. "
So the limitations regarding qabliyah and ba'diyah, have been explained by Ibn Qudamah: "All sunah qabliyah prayers, the time limit between the entry of prayer time to the implementation of obligatory prayers. And all the sunah ba'diyah prayers, the time limit is from the completion of the prayer until the prayer time is over. " (al-Mughni, 1/799).
Therefore, a person who performs the sunah qabliyah prayer after actually enters the prayer time, the status of the prayer is valid, even though at the nearest mosque there is no call to prayer because the muadzin is late announcing the call to prayer.
However, if you are in doubt, and you do not know whether the muezzin proclaims the call to prayer after dawn or when dawn has just risen, then the more careful and the more affectionate, you repeat the two rak'ahs before dawn. So that you are absolutely sure that you have performed the qabliyah prayer at dawn.
So in conclusion, the dawn sunnah prayer is the dawn qobliyah sunnah prayer which is done after dawn (after the call to prayer), before the dawn fardhu prayer.
Thus the question has been answered about the 2 cycles of prayer before dawn when it is done so you don't have to ask any more about the intention of the dawn qobliyah prayer to be done after the call to prayer or before the call to prayer, because it is known by the above article.
